In the late seventies the Hello Kitty (HK) character was launched by Sanrio in Japan. It started a worldwide HK craze and up till now the character’s popularity is still on the rise. This fueled a steady flow of dedicated HK cameras, from the 1970’s 110 film version up until the recent Instax and digital HK cameras. Somewhere at the end of the nineties a plastic 35mm toy camera was marketed that depicted HK’s face. The viewfinder is released when the faceplate is shifted upwards. This rare and working camera is in the original packing.
