Instamatic was the system name for a 35mm cassette film system introduced by Kodak in March 1963, a word made up of the English words instant and automatic. “Immediately” referred to a blazing fast movie insertion. The cartridge had the Kodak number 126 and was also known by that name. Kodak also used the name Kodapak, other suppliers Pak-Film.
