Bolex Paillard Octa Multifocal Viewfinder

The Bolex Paillard Octameter Multifocal Viewfinder is a classic optical accessory primarily designed for use with Bolex H16 16mm motion picture cameras. Its adjustable mechanism allows the user to preview the field of view of different focal lengths, including 16mm, 25mm, 50mm and longer focal lengths up to approximately 150mm. This allowed filmmakers to determine the desired framing before changing lenses. The Octameter can be mounted on the camera or used separately as a director's viewfinder. This example bears the serial numbers 69034 and 149219.
