Photographer Kris Dewitte (1967, Veurne) enjoys international recognition and is known for his compelling portraits of filmmakers and actors. With Noeste Slaepers he returns to his hometown, the place where his artistic journey began. Where he normally moves inconspicuously across film sets, this time he consciously sought proximity to his subject. The result: powerful and mostly black-and-white portraits that radiate a shared feeling — created in the contact between photographer and portrayed person, tangible for every Slaper and recognizable for everyone.
