Canon A-1 with Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 Lens

Introduced in 1978, the Canon A-1 stood as the top-of-the-line flagship of Canon's famous A-series and represented a major milestone in camera automation. It was the world's first 35mm SLR camera to incorporate a Programmed Auto (P) mode, alongside Aperture Priority (Av), Shutter Speed Priority (Tv), and full Manual (M) control. Housed in a distinct all-black body, it displays exposure information via a bright red digital LED readout inside the viewfinder.

The attached Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 prime lens (available in classic S.S.C. breach-lock or New FD bayonet mounts) is widely praised as one of Canon's finest standard optics. With its fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, it excels in low-light environments and yields shallow depth of field with smooth background bokeh.

This specific setup has been tested with a fresh battery (4LR44 / 6V). The electronic cloth focal-plane shutter fires correctly across modes, and the optical elements of the 50mm lens are clean (free from haze, fungus, or severe scratching).

Condition: Good condition, shutter tested and fully working (battery tested), lens optics are clean.
