Ihagee Exakta VX Varex Waist-Level Finder

The Ihagee Exakta Waist-Level Finder is an original folding viewfinder designed for classic Exakta VX and Varex 35mm SLR cameras. Ihagee, based in Dresden, Germany, was known for its innovative SLR cameras featuring interchangeable viewfinders and accessories.

The finder attaches to the top of the camera and allows the photographer to view the focusing screen from above. This is particularly useful for careful composition in portrait photography, still life and studio work. Its folding design protects the focusing screen when the finder is not in use. Depending on the version, it may also feature a fold-out magnifier to assist with precise focusing.

This vintage accessory is an interesting addition for photographers and collectors of the Ihagee Exakta system. Compatibility depends on the specific finder version and camera body.
