Introduced in 1979 as part of Minolta's popular XG lineup, the Minolta XG-1 was designed as an approachable, high-quality 35mm SLR camera for entry-level and enthusiast photographers. It primarily operates in Aperture Priority auto-exposure mode, automatically selecting shutter speeds between 1 second and 1/1000s to match the selected lens aperture.
The viewfinder features clear LED indicators displaying the active shutter speed alongside a manual mode. Utilizing the classic Minolta SR/MC/MD lens mount, it accepts a vast selection of sharp and affordable vintage Rokkor lenses. The electronic shutter system is powered by two widely available LR44/SR44 batteries.
