Manufactured by Pentacon in Dresden, East Germany, between 1968 and 1976, the Praktica Super TL was a widely popular workhorse camera. It features a stop-down TTL exposure metering system operated via a button adjacent to the shutter release.
Built around the universal M42 screw mount, the camera accepts a vast collection of vintage lenses. It operates with a fully mechanical cloth focal-plane shutter offering speeds from 1s to 1/500s plus Bulb, meaning full functional use without battery dependence. The included Super Carenar 50mm f/1.8 is a bright standard prime optic well-regarded for background isolation.
