Prince Junior TLR met Tri-Lausar 80mm f/3.5

The Prince Junior is a Japanese twin-lens reflex camera from around 1955, designed for 120 film and the classic 6x6 cm square format. This version is equipped with a Tri-Lausar Anastigmat 80mm f/3.5 taking lens and a matching Tri-Lausar Viewer 80mm f/3.5 viewing lens. The Tri-Lausar lenses use a triplet design and are attributed to Tomioka. The camera belongs to a group of Japanese TLRs that were produced under various brand names during the 1950s, with this particular version probably manufactured by Tougodo.

The Prince Junior features a mechanical leaf shutter and an integrated film transport mechanism with an exposure counter. It is an interesting example of the early Japanese 6x6 TLR cameras and is particularly appealing to collectors of lesser-known Japanese medium-format cameras. Camera serial number 638608, taking lens serial number 638941.
