The Yashica Electro 35 GSN is one of the most successful and celebrated analogue rangefinder cameras ever produced. It is best known for its legendary Color-Yashinon DX 45mm f/1.7 prime lens, which delivers stunning bokeh and excellent low-light capability. The camera operates using an aperture-priority auto-exposure system, electronically selecting precise stepless shutter speeds based on the chosen aperture setting.
Since the original 5.6V mercury battery (HM-4N) is no longer available, this camera has been tested using the popular battery workaround consisting of one CR123A and two LR44 batteries, confirming that the electronic shutter and indicator lights ("OVER" and "SLOW") function properly.
