This Zeiss Ikon Movinette 8B, serial number Q06136, is fitted with a Carl Zeiss Triotar 10mm f/2.8 lens, serial number 1928075, and comes complete with its original leather carrying case. It represents one of the most distinctive amateur movie cameras produced by Zeiss Ikon during the late 1950s.

Introduced in 1958, the Movinette 8B served as a more affordable member of the Movikon family. Unlike traditional vertical movie cameras, its unique horizontal design twists the Double-8 film path by 90 degrees inside the body, giving it a remarkably camera-like appearance that remains highly collectible today.

The built-in Carl Zeiss Triotar 10mm f/2.8 is a classic three-element lens known for its pleasing vintage rendering and generous depth of field, making it ideal for family movies, travel footage, and documentary work.

The camera uses Double-8 (Regular 8) film and features a spring-driven motor operating at 16 frames per second, along with a single-frame mode for stop-motion applications. Its selenium exposure meter originally allowed completely battery-free operation, reflecting the sophisticated German engineering of the era.

The robust metal construction, textured finish, and original leather case further enhance its appeal to collectors and vintage cinema enthusiasts. Complete sets such as this remain highly desirable within the world of classic movie cameras.
